At 358 PM EDT, There are several social media reports in the Johnson City area with photos of flash flooding. Notable roads include Cherokee Road and Unicoi Drive. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Public reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Johnson City, Elizabethton, Jonesborough, Central, Pine Crest, Hampton, Midway, Oak Grove and Unicoi. This includes Interstate 26 in Tennessee between mile markers 14 and 22...and between mile markers 23 and 34.
