* At 406 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located near Surgoinsville, or 13 miles west of Gate City,
moving southeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

Kingsport around 420 PM EDT.

At 331 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms 11 miles southeast of Pennington Gap, or 14 miles east
of Jonesville, moving southeast at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Johnson City, Kingsport, Bristol Tn, Bristol Va, Gate City, Weber
City, Spurgeon, Colonial Heights, Gray, and Oak Grove.
